"How to Make Love Like a Porn Star" is Jenna J's autobiography, imagine my surprise I thought it was a manual. But it is still an amazing read y'all, Jenna is such good people. The book, published in August of 2004, chronicles the transformation of little Jenna Massoli into porn titan Jenna Jameson. It starts with her childhood in Vegas and Colorado and relates her insecurity resulting from the death of her mother. Throughout the book Jenna displays an unwavering dedication to survival, the porn siren is actually a deeply principled woman with a rock solid faith in love and family.
Jenna has overcome a multitude of obstacles from gang rapes, drug addictions, and relationship co-dependency but deep down there's still a hurt little girl longing for love and acception. That she was able to display such vunerability is amazing in itself. Jenna's tale is so emotional. Read it if you're a young girl thinking about a career in porn, read it if you're supremely sheltered and have never exposed to Miss Jameson's rawness, but most of all read it to understand the human condition.
Highlights include hastily scribbled diary entries from Jenna over the years, a tongue-in-cheek comic strip about a porno ingenue struggling to make it in the business, and for the list of tips Jenna provides (including the secrets to the perfect blowjob). All in all I really enjoyed the book, it's earned a spot on my bookshelf as one of my favorites.
